Story is pulled

We learned earlier this evening that WPEC decided not to air - tonight - the story they have been promoting since last Thursday.

We'll provide you more details as we get them.

Thank you for your continued support for the Palm Beach Zoo.

  2. They got their ratings...too bad it hurt the zoo in the process...maybe they realized that they didn't have their facts straight!

  3. Hmmmm...no comments from MR RECTOR?????? Maybe they read your blogs on here and realized what kind of idiot you really are? I hope you're reading this or do you only read CAPS???? Oh wait...that's how you type...you can read right...or do you just read between the lines..or read into something what you WANT it to be...????

  4. Now that the nonsence is past, I certainly hope PBZ will keep this blog !

  5. I hope this means that someone at WPEC had the good sense to to try to verify the reporter's story, and, discovering it just wasn't factual, pulled it. If that is the case, I will take back my comments about irresponsible journalism, and give my full respect to WPEC.

  6. This is great news. I wish someone from WPEC would comment. Was the story killed or merely delayed and why? We're left to speculate, but I like to think they reacted to the outpouring of support here and via phone calls and reexamined the "facts" in their report. Their reading Mr. Rector's comments on this blog would be the nail in the coffin.

I am with Dr. Maples and all the folks at the Zoo 1000 percent. Good for Channel 12 for reversing their sights. THAT does not happen often.

  9. Excellent News and to have Kimberly Mitchell behind you. Yea!!!

I am sure Channel 12 must have been inundated with telephone calls as well as emails and realized it might now be a wise stand to take...what in heaven's name how could they handle a follow-up after making a huge percentage of Palm Beach County's population incensed? This was just wrong from beginning to end ... I agree with the comments about Mr. Rector who appears to have issues and they do not have a thing to do with the zoo. May we suggest Mr. Rector that you get some help?
